The Technical University of East Bavaria at Amberg-Weiden operates in the tradition of German
\nPolytechnic Institutes of Higher Education (Fachhochschulen): We are bridging the gap
\nbetween scientific discovery and practical application. In the field of Renewable Energies our goal is to take sustainable use of natural resources beyond the conceptual level towards teaching efficient practical implementations. Thus we consider ourselves as natural partners of
\nall those, individuals and institutions, who are serving the same cause.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>In our teaching and research we are acting as multipliers of a precious pool of knowledge \u2013precious because of the\u00a0<\/a>pressing needs imposed by population growth and the dangerous dynamics resulting from the over-use of natural resources with its wide ranging social, medical and ecological implications. Developed countries are well advised to work, also in their own interest, towards a solution or at least mitigation of the problems resulting from this dynamics.<\/p>\n

We are happy to collaborate with the organizers because we share this goal both from an ethical and a technical perspective, and also because we share the belief that large, global change must grow from small, local roots.<\/p>\n

The University has signed a memorandum of understanding with its first International Innovative Leraning Place (ILO), Renewable Energy Centre, Mithradham, Kerala, India on 12th. February 2015. Under this memorandum, a long standing and special partnership is
\nestablished between the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering \/Environment Technology,
\nespecially in the area of environment technology and renewable energy which is the focal area of activity of the Indian Centre.<\/p>\n

Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Markus Brautsch, member of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering\"\"<\/a>\u00a0and Environment Technology and Head of the Institute for Energy Technology,
\nstaff members and students of our University are regularly visiting Mithradham Renewable Energy Center. Project work carried out in the context of the \u201cGlobal Village\u201d action weeks includes implementation of environment friendly energy technologies for rural electricity supply, where students and trainees from different countries meet to learn about the technological state-of-the-art, discuss current approaches towards use of renewable energy technologies from a teaching and research perspective, and to look at practical model implementation.<\/p>\n

Die Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg \u2013 Weiden unterh\u00e4lt seit einigen
\nJahren vielf\u00e4ltige Beziehungen zum Renewable Energy Centre Mithradham und
\nzum Verein zur F\u00f6rderung entwicklungswichtiger Vorhaben in Stuttgart.<\/p>\n

Our institution, the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden (University of\u00a0<\/strong>Applied Sciences), has entertained diverse relations with the Renewable Energy Centre\u00a0<\/strong>Mithradham and the Association for the Promotion of Important Development Projects<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

(Verein zur F\u00f6rderung entwicklungswichtiger Vorhaben) in Stuttgart.\"\"<\/a>
\nDie gegenseitige Partnerschaft ist gekennzeichnet von einer fachlichen Zusammenarbeit, was die Planung, Optimierung und Durchf\u00fchrung von Projekten im Bereich Erneuerbarer Energien anbelangt, als auch was die im Zentrum einhergehende p\u00e4dagogische Verbreitung der Inhalte ber\u00fchrt. Besonders gegl\u00fcckt ist aus Sicht der Hochschule die hohe pers\u00f6nliche Integrit\u00e4t und die Beharrlichkeit, mit der das Zentrum seit Jahren erfolgreich arbeitet.<\/p>\n

Our mutual relationship is characterized by a close technical cooperation, which involves the\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>planning, optimization and implementation of renewable energy projects as well as the\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>dissemination of relevant educational content. Particularly noteworthy are \u2013 in our opinion –\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>the high levels of integrity and tenacity which have contributed positively to the Centre\u2019s\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>success for years.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Die Aufgabenstellung des Zentrums ist aus hiesiger Sicht von unsch\u00e4tzbarem Wert, weil
\ngerade in einem Land wie Indien die Schonung nat\u00fcrlicher Ressourcen bei gleichzeitig
\nhohem Bev\u00f6lkerungswachstum nur durch deutlich \u00fcberproportionale Fortschritte beim
\nEinsatz erneuerbarer Energien umgesetzt werden kann. Die Anliegen der Hochschule
\nsind insofern mit denen des Zentrums identisch.<\/p>\n

From our today\u2019s perspective, the Centre\u2019s task is of vital importance; all the more so since<\/strong><\/span>
\n the protection of natural resources in a country like India with a high population growth can<\/strong><\/span>
\n only be implemented by disproportionally boosting renewable energy use. In this respect, our<\/strong><\/span>
\n objectives are identical to those of the Centre.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Die Hochschule w\u00fcnscht sich eine Vertiefung der bisherigen Partnerschaft und m\u00f6chte gerne das Zentrum bitten, zusammen auch formal einen Innovativen Lernort zu begr\u00fcnden, an dem Studierende und Hochschullehrer der Hochschule zusammen mit Sch\u00fclern, Studierenden und Hochschullehrern aus Indien gemeinsame Seminare, Lehrveranstaltungen oder Praktika durchf\u00fchren.<\/p>\n

To deepen our existing partnership, we would like to ask the Centre to formally set up a socalled\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Innovative Place of Learning where students and professors of our University can\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>carry out joint seminars, lectures and practical projects with students and professors from\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>India.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
